Starting in the 1910, an Inn and restaurant was built on Ferry Boulevard in Stratford Connecticut that catered exclusively to the automobile trade. By the 1930s, the inn grew into a thriving business and the restaurant was updated and renamed after a little streamlined train that passed on the railroad every day – they called it the Blue Goose. When the Connecticut turnpike came though, the Blue Goose restaurant was rebuilt on a nearby property. And the restaurant, and its name, the Blue Goose has been endured ever since. Bought by the Augustyn family in 1976, the restaurant still serves seafood near the river.
